You also aren't exactly known for your patience though

I believe that we should have something like a 5 min window. To pick but with the boards it is hard. That way this could almost be done completely on the boards before a live draft would take place.

A 3 hour window would be fine on the boards (shut it off from say 10 pm - 8 am) ... allows for about 5 picks a day at worst. First round would be nearing completion with any sort of pace. Just message person who is up next when you pick. My messages go to my email (quick way to check).

If your really just trying to do the draft faster just move the draft date up and have people send in lists so theres a set tine for people to have picks in and gms are less likely to miss.

Well I sent a message to the Cougars and also I've announced the draft date and time which incase anyone didn't see it Saturday @9pm est. I won't be back home until really late tonight as I am trying to wait the rain out before packing my truck up before leaving. That is why the draft is tomorrow evening.
Also is there anyone who might be able to help us get 2 gms for the open gm spots we currently have in Kentucky and Kings?

It never fails to amaze me how GMs freak out every year when the "pre-draft" isn't going as fast as they would like. If you don't want a long, drawn out pre-draft, then don't give it days on end. I always thought the purpose here was to encourage trades, and allow time to look at things. That's why we have this pre-draft time. The time to actually pick is during the draft itself, which in this case, isn't until Saturday.

I agree to an extent with Nuggets. However what I've found is most GMs wait right up until trade day to decide. If there is a 5 day wait period, not much (except cap issue like Bobcats) happens until the night before or day of. If there is a 3 day wait period, same thing will occur. Problem here is no problem at all, 90% of the GMs here are experienced and smart... gonna check every option and get the best possible deal for their team.
Biggest issue is what Warriors put ... need 2 more GMs.

Agreed once again nuggets.. It was done this way just for the above reasons. sure its nice to get picks going but if its not relax we have a draft date to get it finished. think of it as time to research, put fa lists together, talk trade with gms that respond whatever

All this over not being on the site for like 10 hours? Wow.....
As the Pistons said, I was in talks with him a couple other teams when I messaged him yesterday, and I checked the site last at probably 530 yesterday and then....ya know, there's the outside world, wife, kid.....I check the site pretty much every day and usually get back to 99% of you, so I don't get the big deal.....but whatever, people need to bitch, I guess.

It's not the end of the world all I meant was that if you are working on a potential deal then just post something like "deal is in progress" or "will pick soon" that way it will be a combination of two things. First it shows your checking the site to see that it's your pick, and second it shows that your working things out in a potential deal.

If I was on a computer when I was on the clock, I would've. When I checked the site last...I was still a pick or 2 away. DET posted we were in talks, so I don't get the outcry.
In any event...the pick will dealt, just waiting for DET to log on.

I like the way we do drafts, especially because the file goes out so late in the season. Don't expect to pick until the day of the draft. If you get to pick earlier, well, its really the same thing. FA won't start until after the actual draft day. Whether you make your pick on Tuesday or Saturday, the next stage isn't happening until after Saturday.
We'll never get through an entire draft before draft day. And the 5, 10 picks we make beforehand only save, what, 4 minutes on draft day?

Well I know that getting through the draft before the day it's being ran is unrealistic dream or probably a pipe dream on my part. Well it does save slightly some time but I just think it is just another way to keep gms involved in the draft.
