Pistons send: Tom Heinsohn #7 pick
Knicks send: Elgin Baylor
My rationale: Obviously giving up Baylor isn't easy after winning ROY, but this was probably the best offer I've received throughout the season. Largely in part due to an inside-oriented offense and being the 2nd option on the team. FBB has taught me that winning cores generally aren't built of scoring big men (largely in part of low FG%). and Baylor is no exception. I'll rehash that winning ROY is no small feat, but keep in mind this comes at the cost of 42% from the field and 3.3 TOs per game. At his natural SF, Baylor averaged a mediocre 12/6 so his stats are inflated as a result.
On paper Heinsohn is a better player (same age as well), but logic and namesake tell me that Baylor will probably end up with better ratings in the long run. However, Heinsohn allows me to slot the more efficient Kile in at PF or C and still be able to surround the big men with perimeter shooting. #7 pick isn't projected to be anything special, but a project player wouldn't hurt to be had on the team.
Good trade Pistons.

Detroit sends: -Tom Heinsohn -Pistons 2020 1st
New York sends: -Elgin Baylor
I agree. I really need to get a versatile PF/SF and Heinsohn was not what I needed. Baylor with Arizin should create a great one-two punch. Good dealing Knicks.
