As soon as i get everyone's GM stuff posted I can imput it into the game and run the creation draft order. Id love to do that Monday.. Once that is run we can begin the creation draft. The plan is to do 2 rounds a sim running Mon - Wed- Fri Sims. In a perfect world I would start this Thursday this week. If not we can get it going next week, imo the sooner the better though..
More info to come i'm just waiting on you guys to get your screen names changed over and your gm stuff posted for me to imput into the game

Wow, kind of weird to know that the old AvN is gone and we're starting anew. I was here for 41 sim years, and I'm pretty sure the league existed for 46. In all that time, I've advanced out of the first round two or three times. My team was never downright terrible, but I was constantly stuck in mediocre limbo, and I could never hold onto a star. That and I always thought that I was just one piece away from contending, so I'd always dump any future assets as soon as I got them.
All in all, I'm pretty sure my record of mediocrity stands alone. I am definitely THE WORST GM this league has ever seen. But now, the record is clear!
I joined March 12th, 2008. Back then.... The Thunder were still the Seattle Supersonics. I was a junior in high school. I used Yahoo! Messenger.
Anyway, adios to the old league! I'll end this era as it begun, with the first message I ever wrote in this league....

You're not the worst GM Tao...
You're the "Best, Average GM" the league has ever known! Of all the average GMs over all those seasons, you're the one that stands just a wisp above the others.
-Guy that has ZERO AvN titles in over 35 season

Oh, and with their first pick in this year's creation draft the Portland Trailblazers select: You better believe I'm targeting the Big Red Machine. I mean, look at all the bithcin' images I can get of him already in a Blazer uni.

Are we scaling back to the original cap rules? I think we should

I just assumed that if it's a creation draft based on rosters of real NBA teams in 1976, then my boy Bill will be on there. He netered the league in 1974.
More than anything else I wax nostalgic for Blazer centers. They're all good for short, injury riddled careers. Sim leagues are the only way I can make them "right" going forward. Walton, Sam Bowie, and Greg Oden will all be mine!!

I was the original Trailblazers GM, and I have to say, Bill Walton was pretty beastly in the original AvN. He led us to 2 finals appearances in 4 years, although we never won one. Considering that he's not as likely to have injury problems here, and also considering the lack of star depth in the mid-1970s NBA, he could seriously go top 3 in the expansion draft. As far as a potential hard cap goes, many of us were in favor of scaling back the original AvN hard cap to something more like ABCA's 80 million. If we go with older salaries like we did originally in this league (a bitch, definitely, but a nice feature), then that'll be to figure out later. But if we have present salaries, our hard cap should be at about 75-76 million to account for fewer teams and players. It all started with LaRue Martin. I bet you can't wait to turn Meyers Leonard into a superstar 3 years (real life years) from now.
