Did some Digging and this is what I've found would have to happen to get them under with no trade:
Barbosa, Gibson (maybe not since Min, Min), Dawson released and 3 guys at the 332,817 amount min signed.
In which case... I claim Dawson. LOL

The only signings that can be undone are those that put them over because that's an illegal signing and thus should have never happened in the first place. That's why during FA Days signings are undone. Because they put a team over the cap and were illegal in the first place.
But you don't get to undo previous signings that put them in this bad position of not having enough cap room to sign a 12th player. That's the difference here. You don't get "redos" or to backtrack to fix your cap situation. All the signings except the last one for their 12th player were legal. Poorly planned, but legal.
In this case, they needed to make a trade to acquire enough players or get far enough under the hard cap to make cheap FA signings to fill out their roster.

Then his best 5 should be sat until he gets under HC or something. Forfeit every game essentially.

Just remove Barbosa from my team because when he was added I went over the cap. With my new deal I should be all set with that adjustment.

Well you only had 11 players that is why you had barbosa I picked so it would let me sim.
