I think we need to get some shit organized or we're going to struggle creating this league. A couple good GM's are out already and I'm not far behind. I've been checking the boards occasionally and I can't tell what the hell is going on. There isn't a single post that has the details laid out completely. Everybody switching teams has me so confused as to who is who, and now we're starting the draft tonight. No PM's to the GM's for a warning or anything. As far as I know, we don't have anybody that is totally familiar with how the game works? Do we need to purchase the new game? Is it a disadvantage not to have the game? Are we doing real coaches or not? Could we not have organized the new draft while we completed one more season of the old one? Everything I was afraid of when abandoning the old league seems to be coming true.

You don't have to purchase the game to play. I understand about the draft being rushed so we will postpone it until friday giving everyone time to get a list together if they can't be present. Also as far as being a disadvantage not having it all that you would need to do is ask me to check something for you and I'll gladly do it. Also we are doing human coaching.
I could have done 1 more season but as from what I could see people wanted it to just ended abruptly.
I hope that I am new to doing this game as is everyone else so it is a learning curve for all. Please bear with it and we can work this out.

So I know this is a dumb question, but who is running the league. Are you (Bulls) the old Warriors? Is old Buffalo helping? Does he have his own team or not? Is there a way to sort the players in the draft? Were the younger known real life superstars given lower grades to develop or were they artificially enhanced to prevent a lack of talent in the league at its inception? I feel like somebody with any familiarity with the new game may have a significant advantage when drafting but I could be wrong. It would just be nice to have what information we have available laid out in one post with only one person in charge of updating it when we begin to answer some of the questions, instead of having to search through pages of discussion from all GM's with their opinions of how we should run things over multiple posts.

I think a new site should be created. It would help out a lot.

I'm running it and yes I was Warriors. Prez is helping with the set up of the file and the transition but he doesn't have a team. As far as sorting players that is something that he would know about. Well me personally I don't even know enough about the new game to even consider having an unfair advantage. As for the rules clarification will be made.

I'm just an organization guy and it felt really haphazard. I'll try to get my draft info in order sooner rather than later.

Well I'm going to be honest here I'm definitely not website designing inclined if someone would like to help make that happen I'm not apposed to it being redone. I normally try to be organized myself this is just a lot of things to digest. We can work on things like this I'm open to suggestions.

I would suggest we clean up the boards into league history or straight up delete old stuff. I'd be willing to help if I had the capability to. I'm sure others would too.

I like a little time to check stuff out, but really it just takes looking around and reading up a little. I honestly think it will just take time for all of us to see if we like the new game.
As far as draft prep, I think most of us are in the same boat (i.e. we just pick dudes because we see A's and B's and we know they were good in real life). I mean, who the hell really knows anyway. Pick as many good real life dudes as possible and you should be fine. We're all doing that anyway.
Maybe we can update the GM list too. If you were a long time GM like the "New' Kings was the "Old" Oaks then that might be worth noting on there. Just a thought.

Good idea but if it is I think I had posted when I had people select teams I put in parentheses what they were in old league for the most part.

As long as the info is somewhere for us to access. I mean, without it I might end up trading with GMs that I wouldn't trade with normally just because I didn't realize it was that GM. Yeah, I'm like that sometimes, so what?
