Salary Cap 25 Million Hard Cap 40 Million
1983- 1987
Salary Cap 30 Million Hard Cap 45 Million
1989- 1992
Salary Cap 35 Million Hard Cap 50 Million
1993- 1997
Salary Cap 40 Million Hard Cap 55 Million
1999- 2001
Salary Cap 45 Million Hard Cap 60 Million
2003- 2005 Salary Cap 50 Million Hard Cap 70 Million
2001- on Salary Cap 60 Million Hard Cap 85 Million
Hard Cap Rules -
You can NEVER go over the hardcap at anytime during the season or offseason.
If you do the last player signed that put you over the cap will be cut.
No trades will be allowed if it puts you over the hardcap.
No resignings will be allowed if it puts you over the hardcap.
The only way you might go over the hard cap is if naturally your teams salary's the next season carry over and you are over. At that point you have until draft starts the following year to get back under or lose your most valuable player.
