As most of you know the activity and overall action in the league has decreased a lot the past number of seasons. This by no means means we should toss in the towel, that said many of you know a lot of us have moved over to www.abcalegends.com/ to play in a newly formed league with the newest FBB 3 version. A completely new game  This game/ league requires a lot more in terms of activity (with a 3 strike and your out rule on DC's) as well as an expectation you care and post about your team every so often lol.. It also offers more ratings, advanced stats and happens to be in the same time period that we are in currently. That said a number of you have already been asked if your interested in going over, I too would like to offer gms the chance to come over and play.. Frankly ive wanted to move our league over to that new game for awhile but the process is to hard to convert and requires to much in terms of imputting. This maybe the next best solution. Find me on AIM and we can talk about it or go to abca.proboards.com and check it out.. IF we decide to keep AvN going we certainly can wpw is more than willing to keep it going. Frankly though the activity sucks right now and theres just not a lot of interest. Your welcome to prove me wrong.. Lets discuss!! |

You're right, of course. But I'm not good enough to do Global, and I don't like the fantasy concept of it, with random players from random times. I'd be very interested in an FBB 3 retro reset of AvN, though. All in all, I'll see this league through to the end.

I like how this league is going and feel the activity is at an acceptable level but maybe not at the best or most ideal level....
But right now, We do get a strong number of DC's still, and whenever I send a PM, I get a response..... But there was a time where people were posting daily, I would receive more trade talk PM's, etc.... I even think a league that doesn't require constant activity (like this is going) might be more beneficial for some... I hit very busy times in the year where I'm lucky to even get 5 minutes per day here and that is adequate for this league... but might make me inactive if more activity was ever required..
but much like Tao, I'll stick with this through to the end as well.... I'm hoping to get into a league running off of FB3 soon but probably not until a little while later when I get a chance to buy the game, play it and see how it is. Just my opinion though.

I plan on sticking with this league and hope to see a change one day to the new game. I got an invite for Legends, but declined.

I wasn't invited to the new league. I'm never invited to anything, actually. I suck
I"m fine with the activity rate right now. We've all been here for a while and have run out of things to say to each other. It happens. It's summer. I think it's going to pick up soon now that we are using awesome retro guys and less fake players.
One suggestion is to kill the d-league and sim faster to get through seasons faster as off-season activity has remained high. The league is pretty stacked right now. Everyone seems to know what they are doing and is being patient with trades and so on.
Another suggestion is to lower the cap, as that would force more trades. Obviously we would need to put some more thought into that; we couldn't just say next season it's going down to 90 mil. But I've always thought that having 100 mil in cap makes cap management too easy and easier to hold on to players.

I also like the idea of changing the cap....one of the original things that I thought made this league cool was how contracts were so small back in the 70s and 80s, and how you wouldn't have an MLE. I remember one year I snapped up a bunch of deals just above 1.2 million when we had only an LLE, and I traded those players for free picks. Challenging stuff like that makes me miss the early AvN. Now the only thing really unique about it is team names and the D-League.

Tao- its not random players at random times its actually the same as our save no fake guys and no randomness with classes like we use with avncaa just fyi
utah this is an invite to u I guess the bucks were sending invites out to guys too. For me I havent decided if ill walk away or not from here to me the league just seems to be running in place doing the min possible to keep going

As said above, I'll be here until the end. I think the activity level is fine, but definitely not ideal. I can attempt to trade (although the trade market is dead right now), get responses, and occasionally post things. 2/3rds of GMs probably have an active interest in and a plan for their teams, which isn't bad. Frankly, I don't see the need to post all the time about absolutely everything (ABCA's requirement), although I absolutely try to make moves when I need to.

It is a lot more in depth.. doesnt have the old fbb bias towards pgs.. a lot more coaching options couting brings a whole new level to things.. cyrux won the first title tok sweeping my teeam in 4
